Starrcade '88 was the sixth annual Starrcade pay-per-view event produced under the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) banner. It was the first Starrcade event produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and it took place on December 26, 1988 from the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. Shortly before the event, Ted Turner bought Jim Crockett Promotions, and the company became WCW.

- Rick Steiner defeated Mike Rotunda (c) (w/ Kevin Sullivan) for the [[NWA World Television Championship
- Barry Windham (c) (with James J. Dillon) defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Oliver Humperdink) by countout for the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship
- Sting and Dusty Rhodes defeated The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) (c) (w/ Paul Ellering) by disqualification for the NWA World Tag Team Championship
- Ric Flair (c) (w/ James J. Dillon) defeated Lex Luger for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
